Meditation

The work constructs a state of inwardness through an avian figure reduced to a few essential forms and placed within a dense chromatic space. The long ochreorange neck rises from the broad mass of pinks like a presence attempting to detach itself from its own matter. The grey ground, traversed by broad, repeated brushstrokes, creates an unstable, almost aquatic atmosphere in contrast with the silhouette's calm verticality.
