Portrait of an Artist

The work explores inward expression through a frontal composition constructed from synthesised forms, firm chromatic contrasts, and interventions of symbolic import. The fragmentation of the face into distinct fields of colour, together with the strand of beads suggesting a tear, invests the image with tension, vulnerability, and a powerful affective charge.
