Prayer

The work explores prayer as an inward state rather than an explicit gesture. The silhouette, barely delimited by fragile lines, appears absorbed into an intense chromatic space in which figure and ground interpenetrate. The head, reduced to a dark disc with a white nucleus, suggests concentrated thought, while the yellow and white interventions dispersed across the torso become signs of a wordless utterance, fragments of light, or impulses of inner energy. The contrast among the expansive red, deep blue, and dark base lends the composition gravity and tension. The composition evokes a moment of contemplation in which the body becomes a locus of waiting, vulnerability, and an invisible bond with that which exceeds it.Technique: acrylic on stretched canvasSize: 60 x 80 cmYear: 2026
