Ra and the Pyramids

The work explores the relationship between light and the silence of the horizon through an expansive composition built upon forceful contrasts between the intensity of an incandescent sky and the dark silhouettes of landscape forms. The dialogue among the solar disc, red and ochre tonalities, and the nearly graphic presence of the volumes lends the image gravity, balance, and a meditative atmosphere.
