SelfPortrait

The work approaches identity through a frontal figure devoid of recognisable features, in which the body becomes the principal bearer of memory and vulnerability. The brown silhouette stands out forcefully against the intense orange ground, which transforms the space into an almost incandescent field. The circular void at the centre of the chest introduces the image of an acknowledged absence, a missing nucleus around which the entire presence appears to organise itself. Dense material interventions distributed across the shoulders, arms, and torso function as wounds and accumulations of experience.
