The Dream

The work evokes the uncertain condition of dreaming through a composition reduced to a single form suspended within an intense pink field. The brown mass, with diffuse edges and an unstable contour, appears caught between appearance and disappearance, like an image only partially retained upon waking. Superimpositions of matter and discreet tonal variations suggest a body, landscape, or presence impossible to identify precisely. The expansive surrounding space accentuates the form's isolation and transforms the absence of detail into a source of tension.
