The Witness

The work explores the silent presence of one who sees, remembers, and does not intervene. The silhouette, reduced to broad featureless forms, emerges against an incandescent ground dominated by intense reds and oranges. Yellow flowers traverse the body like fragile signs of memory, of things observed and carried forward. The contrast between the density of the figure and the delicacy of the vegetal trajectory introduces a tension between immobility and life, withdrawal and participation. The composition evokes the individual as witness: an apparently passive presence nevertheless burdened by what it has retained and cannot relinquish.Technique: acrylic on stretched canvasSize: 50 x 60 cmYear: 2026
